Spring 2011 Key Looks on the Runway

Okay ladies I'm going to start off by naming all of the key trends for the spring and then I will choose a few to go into detail. The trends that I'll talk about in detail are trends that I think will be the most popular or easy for everyday people to add into their current wardrobe. So there is four main themed fashion trends this spring which are biker clothing, punk fashion, 70's glam, and 60's ladylike. So in these four categories you'll find different clothing trends such as sheer maxi dresses, lace, strips, tassels, bell bottoms, tail hems, wide leg, carpi pants, crop tops, jumpsuits and crochet and macrame. 

LACE is still in, but there are many different types of lace out there and you have to choose the right one. The stretch lace is NOT a good look any more personally I've never liked it because it reminded me of something very cheap looking. In this picture Olivia Palermo is wearing a gorgeous antiqued lace tired dress. Absolutely classy and lady like, but very modern...an outfit that I could see one on the gossip girls wearing!










TAIL HEMS: I'm loving this trend and I'm so happy it's in this season. Tail hems basically mean that the front is shorter while the back is longer. This goes for skirts to dresses to shirts! If you are average height and taller you cant go wrong with this silhouette. For woman who are a little bit shorter I think you should try a tail hem skirt and add a high heel. The front of the skirt being shorter combined with a high heel is going to give the appearance of longer legs.                             

STRIPS this spring is all about the classic blue and white. The main way to wear strips is to make it the main focus. You want your shoes to be understated, but don't think that you cant wear your military boats. Although it will look heavy at the bottom make the boats a neutral color. I think this striped sailor inspired look will go great with your bell bottom jeans since those are coming back in style for 2011.

CAPRI pants are something that not everybody can pull off because if your shorter it may not look capri, but maybe more like floods. So if you can pull off a capri, look for a slim cut style that's not overly tight. You can make this a lady like look by wearing a kitten heel and a chiffon bow neck top or you can make it look punk or biker by wear leather capri's, a tail hem shirt with boats!
